Isocyanate

A formaldehyde free resin, isocyanates, when cured, are totally inert with no emissions of any kind. Isocyanates bonds are stronger than Urea Formaldehyde or Phenol Formaldehyde bonds, as these resins form both a chemical and a physical bond. Isocyanates have been used to make strawboard and some types of MDF. It is also heavily used in the OSB industry-generally as a resin in the core, due to it’s high level of moisture resistance. Negatives include the fact that this resin is very expensive, and in it’s raw form requires careful handling to prevent workers from being "sensitized".
